A Community Unite by Love and Legacy

Some seeds of change are planted through a single act of kindness. Others grow through an entire community coming together.

Our Story
The Hortense Bryan Center for Education and Food Security is deeply grateful to the Prospect Elementary School Community in Long Island, New York, whose extraordinary generosity has helped bring our mission to life.
Our connection to Prospect Elementary is deeply personal. Our beloved sister, Rhonda Chung, dedicated herself to educating and inspiring children as a teacher at the school. Following her untimely passing, her legacy of compassion and service continued to inspire the students, teachers, administrators, custodians, families, and staff who knew and loved her.

From financial contributions to acts of kindness and continued support, The Prospect Elementary community has embraced our mission in an extraordinary way. Their generosity is helping us provide nutritious meals, educational resources, and opportunities to children and communities in need.

What began with one teacher's commitment to children has grown into a shared commitment to helping children thrive.
We are grateful to Prospect Elementary for helping us plant seeds of change that will continue to grow for generations to come.
